What kind of fabric to use for making crib bedding?

My Aunt is going to make crib bedding for me, all I have to do is buy the fabric and ship it to her. But I don’t even know how to sew a button so I’m a little lost. She told me to get three different ones so I have two primaries and one for the backers and she told me how many yards.

Most baby bedding sold commercially is either 100% cotton or cotton/polyster blend. The 100% cotton is usually consider more soft and appropriate for babies, but really both are ok. That type of fabric would be under apparel. There is likely to be an entire subsection of “cotton prints” as well, which is what you would want. Flannel sheets are also used more in the colder weather, as they stay a more constant temperature. So you could consider choosing one from that section. You would probably want a solid color cotton/poly for the backer. I am sure your Aunt would be happy to offer additional guidance. Maybe you could pick some out and then send her the links before purchasing it for her approval? Or write down the info on line and check it out with her over the phone.
